Lady Indians fall to No. 10 Jones in conference semifinal

Scooba, Miss. – After winning an overtime thriller in the quarterfinals, the Lady Indians dropped a 67-56 decision to No. 10 ranked and No. 1 South Seed Jones College Wednesday.

The Lady Indians (18-6) trailed 35-21 at halftime, but put together a run in the fourth to cut the Lady Bobcats lead to five, 49-44, on a Kealy Wilson (Olive Branch) jump shot with just over six minutes left to play.

Jones pulled away over the final minutes to pick up the win and advance to the conference finals.

Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) led the Lady Indians with 14 points.

The loss didn't end the Lady Indians' season as they will compete in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament next week in Clinton, but they wait to see who their opponent will be in the opening round.
