Lady Indians suffer 73-62 loss at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala. – The Lady Indians dropped only their second game of the season Thursday night as they fell 73-62 to Gadsden State in their final road game of the fall portion of the schedule.

At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Indians (5-2) trailed 17-12 but both teams struggled to find their shot in the opening frame. However, the Lady Indians offense struggles carried over into the second quarter and they fell behind 36-24 by halftime.

By the conclusion of the third frame, the Lady Cardinals remained up by 12, 50-38, but the Lady Indians begin to make a run late to cut into the lead. The efforts however, would be too late as they were unable to find any late heroics.

On a career-night, sophomore forward Sara Friloux (Tupelo) led the team with 13 points off the bench, followed by Whitney Watkins (Decatur, Ala.) with 10 points.

Monday, the Lady Indians will wrap up the fall part of their schedule Monday with a MACJ North Division battle with Northwest Mississippi Community College coming to Fulton. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. and will be available live on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
