FULTON, Miss. – Three members of the Itawamba Community College women's basketball program earned postseason honors on the conference and national level.
Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville), Taneshia Miller (Greenville) and Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) all earned Mississippi Association of Comity and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State honors while Buford also was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region Team and received an All-American honorable mention nod.
The trio helped the Lady Indians win the MACJC North Division title and compiled a 21-5 overall record that included 16-game win streak.
Buford averaged 18 points per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor in her sophomore season. During the season, the 5'9 guard earned MACJC Player of the week and was named to the NJCAA All-Region 23 Tournament team.
Miller averaged both 9.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 26 games during her sophomore season. The 6'1 center picked up eight doubles-doubles for points and rebounds last season and she led the team with a 60.7 field goal percentage and had an eight game stretch with 10 or more rebounds.
Gandy started all 26 games in her freshman season and averaged 9.2 points per game as the team's point guard. She shot 32.8 percent from the floor and averaged 4.3 assists per game.
