Lady Indians take care of East Central in region tournament opener

CLINTON, Miss. - The No. 3 seed Lady Indians used an impressive fourth quarter to pull away for a 78-68 win over the No. 6 seed East Central in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament at Mississippi College on Tuesday.

Trailing 57-52 after three quarters of play, the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Warriors (18-6) 26-11 to punch their ticket to Thursday's semifinals.

Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) led the Lady Indians with 20 points and six rebounds while Taneshia Miller (Greenville) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Kealy Wilson (Olive Branch) came off the bench to score 13 points in the win.

ICC will face top-seeded Jones College at 3:00 after the No. 13 Lady Bobcats defeated Northeast, 72-61, in their first game of the tournament.
