Lady Indians clinch division title with win over Coahoma

Fulton, Miss. – The Lady Indians improved to 10-0 in MACJC North Division play and clinched the division title Thursday night with a 65-39 win over Coahoma.

Sophomore guard Shaniyah Buford (Abbville) led the charge with 20 points and Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) added 10 points while 11 Lady Indians contributed with points.

The Lady Indians (18-2) were in a back-and-forth battle in the opening quarter but pulled away in the second quarter to take a 33-20 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Tigers 32-19 to pick up the 65-39 victory.

The North Division Title is the first since the 2016-17 season and is the program's fourth in five seasons.

Before heading to the MACJC Tournament, the Lady Indians will close the regular season next week with a road game at East Mississippi Monday (Feb. 18) and will host Holmes Thursday (Feb. 21) on Sophomore Night. Tipoff for both dates is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
