Lady Indians rally to #BeatNE to remain unbeaten in the North

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – The Lady Indians (16-2) rallied from a 13-point second half deficit to complete the season sweep of Northeast with a 79-76 win in Booneville to improve to 8-0 in the North Division on Monday night.

Kaylyn Wilson (Columbus) nailed a jumper to put the Lady Indians up 75-74 with 22.5 seconds left to play before Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) nailed a pair of free throws to put the game away in the final seconds of the game. Dayzha Rogan raced the length of the floor and hit a lay-up as time expired to make it a three-point game at the end of the night.

Buford scored a team-high 19 points. Wilson, Zaria Jenkins (Columbus), and Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) each added 14 points while Kealy Wilson (Olive Branch) came off the bench to score 10 in the victory. Rogan had an impressive night scoring a game-high 25 to pace the Lady Tigers (12-6, 5-3 MACJC North).

The win was the 14th in-a-row for the Lady Indians and keeps them in first place in the North.

ICC will be back in action Monday night at Mississippi Delta. The First American National Bank opening tip is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
