Lady Indians pick up division road win over Holmes

GOODMAN, Miss. – The Lady Indians took the lead from the jump and never relinquished it as they defeated Holmes 61-50 Monday night.

Kealy Wilson(Olive Branch) scored the game's first basket that led to a 10-0 run for the Lady Indians. Holmes would fight back before the end of the opening frame, but the tribe was able to hold a 16-10 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Lady Indians (14-2, 6-0) extended their lead to 14-points, 26-12, off a Timoya Brownlee(Houlka) jump shot, and held a 36-24 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Taneshia Miller(Greenville) and Kaylyn Wilson(Columbus) led the charge for the Lady Indians, who picked up the 61-50 lead behind double-double's from the duo. Kaylyn Wilson finished with a team-high 15-points and added 11 rebounds, and Miller put up 12-points and grabbed 12 boards.

The win keeps the Lady Indians atop the MACJC North Division with a perfect 6-0 record and extends their current win streak to 12-games.
