Lady Indians cruise to 79-59 win over Baton Rouge

FULTON, Miss. – The ICC women's basketball team cruised to a 79-59 win over Baton Rouge (La.) to extend its win streak to seven-straight Tuesday afternoon at the DEC.

The Lady Indians (9-2) jumped out to a dominating 22-8 first quarter lead before cooling off to only score 12 in the second to take a 34-17 advantage into the break. Sparked by a 17-point effort in the third quarter from Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville), ICC outscored the Lady Bears (6-10) 26-16 in the third to take a 60-33 lead into the final frame before coasting to the 20-point win.

Buford led three Lady Indians scoring in double figures with 20 points while Taneshia Miller (Greenville) collected her fourth double-double of the season by scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Zaria Jenkins (Columbus) chipped in 15 in the win.
