Strong second half leads Lady Indians to win at Snead State

Boaz, Ala. – The Lady Indians used a strong second half to rally for a 76-70 road win at Snead State (Ala.) Community College on Thursday.

The Lady Parsons (8-5) took advantage of a cold-shooting first half by the Lady Indians (6-2) to take a 39-36 lead into halftime. ICC attacked the paint offensively and opened the third quarter on a 13-1 run to pull away from Snead State. The Lady Indians held a 10-point lead throughout the majority of the second until the Lady Parsons were able to make it a six-point deficit in the final seconds of the game.

Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) paced the Lady Indians with 16 points and a career-high nine assists. Taneshia Miller (Greenville) had 15 points and eight rebounds while Zaria Jenkins (Columbus) added 12 and Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) scored 11 in the win.

Catlin Carter scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Parsons.

ICC will close out the 2018 half of the season at Lawson State (Ala.) Community College on Monday. The Lady Indians will tip things off at 5:30 and the Indians will follow at 7:30.
