Big third quarter gives Lady Indians 96-37 win over ASU Mid-South

FULTON, Miss. – A 40-point third quarter propelled the Lady Indians to a 96-37 win over ASU Mid-South Thursday night at the Davis Event Center.

The Lady Indians (4-2) started slow in the contest and held a slim 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, but were able to pull away in the second frame to a 38-16 lead at halftime. However, the third quarter would be the deciding factor in the game.

In the 40-point quarter, Shaniyah Buford(Abbeville) scored 13 points and was one of nine Lady Indians to score in the frame that put the game out of reach and led to the 96-37 victory.

Buford led with 21 points followed by Zaria Jenkins(Columbus) and Kealy Wilson(Olive Branch) with 10 points each.

The Lady Indians will travel to Sentobia Monday to take on Northwest in their lone MACJC North Division contest of the first half of the season. The game will be broadcast on LetsGoICCTV.com/red with tipoff set for 5 pm.
