Lady Indians pick up win over Snead State

FULTON, Miss. – After a 13-day break for Thanksgiving, the Lady Indians returned to action Tuesday night and picked up a 61-50 win over Snead State.

The Lady Indians (3-2) started the game on an 11-0 run highlighted by big three-pointers from Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) and Kaylyn Wilson (Columbus), and held a 16-8 led after the opening quarter.

In the second quarter, Snead State outscored the Lady Indians but trailed 31-24 at the break.

The Lady Indians received spark after halftime from freshman Kealy Wilson (Olive Branch), who scored seven of her nine points in the second half and grabbed five rebounds. 

In the final two quarters, the game remained competitive but the Lady Indians were able to build on their lead and finish off the Lady Parson to get the win.

Buford led all scorers with 15-points and both Wilson's and Taneshia Miller finished with nine points each.

The Lady Indians will host ASU Mid-South Thursday for their final home game of the 2018 second of the season.
