FULTON, Miss. - The Lady Indians took No.6 Shelton State to the limit before falling 85-50 in overtime behind a 33-point performance by Shaniyah Buford (Abbville).
In overtime, the visiting Lady Bucs would take care of business from the free throw like down the stretch to hold off the Lady Indians. Both teams treated the crowd to an impressive shooting performances with the Lady Indians connecting on 47.7 percent and the Lady Bucs' knocking down 49.2 percent from the floor. Shelton went to the line 25 times and made 13 while ICC went 12 for 12 from the charity stripe.
Zaria Jenkins (Columbus) followed Buford's career night with 18 points, and Tabreea Gandy (Starkville) added 10 points of her own.
LaTascya Duff paced Shelton with 22 points in the win.
ICC will travel to Baton Rouge Community College to open region play on Friday.
