Lady Indians roll over Coahoma, 95-58

FULTON, Miss – In a game originally scheduled for Thursday night, the Lady Indians wasted little time getting a jump on the Coahoma Community College Lady Tigers to notch a 95-58 win in a rare Friday afternoon contest at the Davis Event Center.

Coahoma (2-11, 0-3 MACJC North) took a 2-0 lead on their first possession of the afternoon and the rest of the day belonged to the Lady Indians (7-4, 1-1 MACJC North). ICC went on a 12-0 run to take a 12-2 before cruising to a 27-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The Lady Tigers sparked a small rally in the second, but again the Lady Indians had an answer and closed out first with a 52-27 lead. ICC outscored Coahoma, 18-16, in a sluggish third quarter before pulling away for the 95-58 victory for their first division win of the season.

Taneshia Miller (Greenville) scored 14 points and collected 15 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Shaniyah Buford (Abbeville) added a team-high 21 while Eryka Williams (Starkville) came off the bench to chip in 10 points and 6 rebounds.

All but one active member on the roster scored for the Lady Indians in the victory. It was the third time the Lady Indians have scored more than 90 points this season.

ICC will be back in action tomorrow at Mississippi Delta, in make-up game from Tuesday. The Lady Indians tip things off at 2:00 and the Indians will follow at 4:00 p.m. Both games will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/RED.
