Record night lifts Lady Indians by Wallace-Selma, 100-60

FULTON, MS – Seven different players connected on three pointers, as the Lady Indians went 21 of 29 from beyond the arch in their victory over Wallace State (AL) Community College–Selma on Wednesday.

Sophomore Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) scored a career-high 30 points after going nine for nine from three in just over two quarters of play.

The Lady Indians jumped out to a 26-9 lead over the Lady Patriots in the first quarter and kept the hot hand in the second quarter as they added 30 points to pull away for a 56-26 halftime lead. ICC outscored Selma, 21-14, in the third before cruising to the 100-60 victory.

Zaida Cox (Ripley) continued her stellar play with 15 points. Eryka Williams (Starkville) had a breakout performance with 13 points. Constance Dunn (Fulton) added 10 points in the victory for the Lady Indians.

Rolanda Pope led Wallace-Selma with 19 points.   

One for the Record Books

The Lady Indians hit the second-most three pointers in a single game according to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) record book. Clarendon College (TX) made 22 of 73 from beyond the arch in a game vs Oklahoma Panhandle State University during the 2010-11 season. Seven different Lady Indians connected on at least one three pointer in the game.

Hatcher for Three

Hatcher connected on 10-of-13 shooting, including knocking down all nine of her three point attempts. She also went 1 for 1 from the free throw line.

Closing out 2016

The Lady Indians will also host nationally-ranked Motlow State (TN) on Saturday to close out the 2016 half of the season. The game will be free to the public as part of the College's fan
