ELLISVILLE, MS – The Lady Indians struggled to get shots to fall in their 93-57 loss to the red-hot Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats on Thursday.

Jones County took advantage of the cold start by the Lady Indians (2-2) and bullied its way out to a 24-7 lead in the first quarter. ICC heated up late in the first half to score 20 points in the second quarter but trailed 51-27 at the break.

The Lady Bobcats outscored the Lady Indians, 17-12, in the third quarter before heating up in the final frame to pick up the 93-57 victory.

Sophomore Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) recorded her second-straight double-double of the season after scoring a team-high 13 points and grabbing a team-best 10 rebounds. Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) added 11 points with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the loss.

KK Tassin led the unbeaten Lady Bobcats with 23 points.

Cold Front

For the second-straight game the Lady Indians have connect on 35 percent or less from the floor after knocking down almost 50 percent from the floor in their first two games of the season. ICC connected on 4 of 22 (18.2%) from three against Jones.

Giving Away Opportunities

The Lady Indians lost the turnover battle 22 to 16 against the Lady Bobcats. It's the second-most turnovers this season after the Lady Indians opened the season with 23 in their 80-69 victory at Wallace State (AL) Community College – Selma.

No Rest for the Weary

Things won't get easier for the Lady Indians next week as they travel to Tuscaloosa, AL to face another unbeaten squad in No. 4 Shelton State Community College. ICC dropped a 71-62 to the Lady Bucs in their lone home game earlier this season.
