FULTON, MS - Itawamba Community College women's basketball program clinched the MACJC North Division title Monday night by defeating Mississippi Delta Community College, 83-44. 

The Lady Indians (18-5, 10-2 MACJC North) came out with the hot hand, jumping out to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter. By halftime, the Lady Indians had extended their lead to 37-23 as Alontra Tucker (Lamar), Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) and Erika Toney (Horn Lake) scored nine points each in the first half.

In the second half, the Lady Indians continued to pour on the baskets as they extended their lead to 42 points to cruise to a 83-44 win.

Pounds paced the Lady Indians with 16 points, followed by Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) who chipped in 14 points and Tucker who finished with 13. Toney and Ieysha Mays (Mound Bayou) rounded out the Lady Indians scoring with 11 points each.

The North Division champion Lady Indians will host the MACJC Tournament which begins Monday February 22 at the Davis Event Center.
