BOONEVILLE, MS - Itawamba Community College overcame an early deficit to pick up their twelfth straight win over rival Northeast Mississippi Community College, 83-63.

The Lady Indians (16-5, 8-2 MACJC North) saw their rival jump out to a 10-4 lead, but rallied to take the lead as Alontra Tucker (Lamar) blocked a Lady Tiger shot, and found Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) racing to the basket to give ICC their first lead of the contest 11-10. The first frame came to an end with the Lady Indians on an 18-2 run to hold a 22-12 advantage.

Hatcher and Tucker continued to pace the Lady Indians in the second quarter but the Lady Tigers (10-11, 4-6 MACJC North) kept the game within reach, but trailed 44-35 at halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Indians extended their lead to as much as 25, as they cruised to an 83-63 win.

Hatcher paced the Lady Indians with 21 points, followed by Tucker with 19. Treasure Evans (Horn Lake) and Erika Toney (Horn Lake) added 12 points each and Toney grabbed 11 rebounds to pick up the double-double.

Timaya Stewart led the Lady Tigers with 23 points.

The Lady Indians win sets up a first place matchup on Thursday when they travel to Scooba to take on the MACJC North Division leading East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions. The battle for first place is set to tipoff at 5:30 pm.
