FULTON, MS - Itawamba Community College women's basketball squad took control of the contest early against Coahoma Community College Thursday night and cruised to a 88-64 MACJC North Division win.

It was a tie game early in the first quarter until a Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) three-pointer put the Lady Indians (14-4, 6-1 MACJC North) ahead by three. After Hatcher's three-pointer, the Lady Indians extended their lead throughout the first half to hold a 44-20 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Lady Indians extended their lead to as much as 35 points, but the Lady Tigers (3-15, 1-6 MACJC North) battled until the end and hit a buzzer beating three-pointer to end the final frame. Despite the last second basket, the Lady Indians picked up the 88-64 win.

Hatcher paced the Lady Indians with 20 points, followed by Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) with 16 points. Treasure Evans (Horn Lake) added 13 points, while Juliana Garner chipped in 11 points.

Eugenia Gilliam led the Lady Tigers with 20 points.

The Lady Indians will have a quick turn around as they travel to Northwest Community College Monday for another MACJC North Division duel. Tipoff is schedule for 5:00 pm in Senatobia.
