BOAZ, AL – Erika Toney had a huge second half to help lead the Lady Indians past Snead State (AL) Community College 71-66 to pick up their first win of 2016 on the road.

Toney (Horn Lake) scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half but none bigger than a mid-ranger jumper that gave ICC a 68-66 lead with 43.7 seconds left in the game. Alontra Tucker (Lamar) went two-of-three from the free throw line and added a lay-up in the final 20 seconds to help secure the victory.

Tucker finished the game with six points – all coming in the second half.

Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) continued to look more comfortable in her role as a scorer. The freshman sharpshooter connected on four-of-six from beyond the arch, including back-to-back threes late in the game to help give the Lady Indians a seven point advantage after the Lady Parsons had rallied to tie the game from an eight-point deficit.

Treasure Evans (Horn Lake) added 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Lady Indians improve to 10-3 on the season.

ICC will reopen division play on Monday when they travel to Goodman to take on the Holmes Lady Bulldogs (9-3, 1-1 MACJC North). The Lady Indians are 2-0 on MACJC North play.
