CLARKSDALE, MS - Freshman guard AaLiyaha Thornton had a career night in Itawamba Community College's 83-55 win over Coahoma Community College on Thursday.
The Hernando native dropped a career-high 18 points while adding 3 assists and 3 steals to help the Lady Indians (7-2, 1-0 MACJC North) open North division play with an impressive victory.
ICC jumped out to a 20-1 lead but saw the Lady Tigers (2-7, 0-1 MACJC North) rally to make cut the Lady Indians' lead to 36-24 at the break.
Erika Toney (Horn Lake) and Treasure Evans (Horn Lake) each scored 11 and Alontra Tucker (Lamar) chipped in 10 points in the victory.
Eugenia Gilliam paced the Lady Tigers with 18. 
The Lady Indians will return to Fulton against No. 25 Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers on at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8.
