Two ICC basketball standouts sign to continue their careers

FULTON, MS – A pair of the NJCAA Region 23 Champion Itawamba Community College Lady Indians have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their basketball careers.

Jayla Chills of Ripley has signed with Troy University and Kaelin Kneeland of Olive Branch inked with Delta State University.

Chills, a 5'10 guard, averaged 19.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assist per game to lead the Lady Indians earn a trip to the National Tournament. During her sophomore season she was named NJCAA All-American, NJCAA Region 23 Player of the Year, MACJC All-Star, MACJC All-State and was a three time MACJC Player of the Week and two time NJCAA Player of the Week while earning a spot on the NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team.

She will join the Trojans who finished 10-19 last season and compete in NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference.

Kneeland averaged 12.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game and picked up 14 double-doubles last season. The 5'9 forward was named to the NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team while earning MACJC All-State, MACJC All-Star and MACJC Player of the Week honors during her final season at ICC.

She will join the Lady Statesmen who finished 19-10 last season and compete in NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.
