GOODMAN, Miss – The Itawamba Community College Lady Indians' 12-game winning streak was snapped Thursday night in an 84-67 road loss to the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs.

The division-leading Lady Indians (17-3, 8-1 MACJC North Division) struggled to find an offensive rhythm early while the Lady Bulldogs seemed to have everything going their way.  Trailing by 11 points, the Lady Indians rallied to pull within six, 42-36, at the break on a charge led by a 14-point first-half performance by Jayla Chills (Ripley).

Chills continued to lead the charge in the second half as the Lady Indians fought back within one, 50-49, with 14 minutes left. Two quick three-pointers would extend the Lady Bulldogs' lead but the Lady Indians would stay in striking distance trailing by only three with 7:47 remaining.

It was shaping up to be a repeat of the team's first meeting that the Lady Indians won 85-79; however, an 18-5 run led by Holmes sophomore guard Carmesha Nalls, who scored a game-high 25 points, put the game out of reach.

Chills scored a team-high 16 points, followed by Alontra Tucker (Lamar) with 13 and Jeronia Allen (Minden, LA) with 10.

The Lady Indians look to shake off their first division loss when they return to the comfort of the Davis Event Center Monday night for their second meeting with the rival Northeast Lady Tigers at 6 p.m.
