Lady Indians stay in the hunt for North title with win over Delta

FULTON, MS – Sophomore Ashley Wiley and Freshman Latoya Collins each turned in double-double performances in the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians 71-33 MACJC North Division win over Mississippi Delta Community College on Thursday.

Wiley (Jackson) scored 13 points and grabbed 10 boards while Collins (Jackson) added 12 points and 10 rebounds of her own to help the Lady Indians improve to 11-6 and stay amongst the North leaders with a 5-1 division record.

Ayanna Lynn (Indianola) added 11 points and a game-high five assist.

Assistant Coach Robin Porter picked up her second win as head coach of the Lady Indians as she filled in for Coach Nanci Gray, who missed the game with flu-like symptoms.

Krysal Nailer led Mississippi Delta with 10 points in the loss.

The Lady Indians will stay in division play as they travel to Booneville to take on the Lady Tigers of Northeast Mississippi Community College on Thursday, January 31. Tip is scheduled for 5:30 and the game can be heard on WAFM 95.7 FM (Amory) starting at 4:40 p.m.
