
RAYMOND, Miss. – The Indians used strong pitching in both games against Hinds to help secure the road sweep on Friday.
Game 1: Indians 1, Hinds 0
A strong pitching performance from Alyssa Clifft helped the Indians pick up the 1-0 win over Hinds in game one.
Clifft struck out 11 batters in the contest while only giving up one hit in the complete game effort.
The Indians got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when Ella Duhon hit a ground ball and reached on an error, allowing Maddie Porter to score.
Porter and Laklyn Nichols led the way for the Indians with two hits apiece while Joryie McKnight, AB Marlar and Sadie Stegall each added one.
Game 2: Indians 2, Hinds 0
The Indians completed the sweep over Hinds with a 2-0 road win in game two.
Much like game one, game two featured strong pitching for the Indians, this time from Ella Lilly, who struck out three batters in seven innings of work.
ICC got on the board in the top of the third inning when Joryie McKnight delivered an RBI single followed by a single from AB Marlar that scored Laklyn Nichols.
McKnight led ICC with three hits tallied while Nichols and Zoe Goodman each added two.
