
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Indians used a late rally in the top of the ninth to pick up a 2-1 road win over Shelton State.
The Buccaneers opened the contest with an RBI double in the bottom of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Indians tied it up in the top of the sixth when Joryie McKnight singled up the middle to score Maddie McClendon.
In the top of the ninth, Sadie Stegall grounded out to the second, allowing Ella Duhon to score and give ICC the lead. Shelton State had a pair of runners on the bases in the bottom half of the inning, but the Indians were able to hold on for the road win.
Alyssa Clifft picked up the win for ICC, striking out seven batters and walking three while giving up one run on six hits in a complete game effort.
At the plate, Lauren Brown led the Indians with two hits while McKnight and Stegall each had an RBI.
