TUPELO, Miss. – The Indians enjoyed Saturday's sweep over Kaskaskia at Veterans Park in Tupelo.

Game 1: Indians 13, Kaskaskia 9

The Indians took game one over Kaskaskia in a back-and-forth battle, 13-9.

Kaskaskia tied the game in the top of the third, but that tie was quickly broken after Julia Shaw hit a solo home run to put the lead back in the Indians' hands.

After Kaskaskia scored three in the top of the fourth, the Indians put their foot on the gas with a four-run outing in their half of the inning and went on to score two in each of the last two innings en route to the game one win.

Smith went four-for-five at the plate while Shaw and Camdyn Cooper each added three hits to the Indians' total 20 hits in the game. Smith, Tyree and Emma Rose Thompson each had three RBIs in the contest.

Shaw threw a complete game as she struckout eight batters.
