Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore Kara Hays has been named to the All-South Region Second Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Hays led the Indians in RBI (48), doubles (14) and triples (6) and was second on the team with a .377 batting average.
The Mooreville native also scored 44 runs, hit a two home runs and stole 20 bases on 20 attempts.
Defensively, Hays, who had a .965 fielding percentage, recorded 93 putouts, 74 assists and eight double plays as the Indians starting catcher.
Hays' performance also earned her all-conference honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) earlier this month.
