No. 6 Indians drop two hard-fought games to No. 2 Co-Lin

Wesson, Miss. – The No. 6 ranked Indians battled with No. 2 Co-Lin Saturday, and dropped two hard fought games as the Wolves picked up walk-off wins 3-2 in 9 innings in game one and 1-0 in game two.

Game 1: Wolves 3, Indians 2 (9-innings)

The Indians (23-5, 9-5 MACCC) struck first scoring two runs in the top of the third as Hannah Henry (Brandon) singled to score Rayne Rippee (Sardis) and Madison Jenkins (Cleveland).

In the bottom of the fourth, the Wolves (28-2, 14-0 MACCC) toed the contest at 2 runs apiece.

The game would remain tied at 2-2, until the Wolves picked up the walk-off winner in the bottom of the ninth.

Game 2: Wolves 1, Indians 0

Game two was just as tight of a contest as the first, with both teams remaining scoreless for six innings.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Wolves would get another walk-off hit to pick up the 1-0 win and the sweep.

The Indians are scheduled to host Jackson State (Tenn.) Wednesday for a nonconference doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m. and will jump back into MACCC play Saturday when they host Southwest Mississippi at noon and 2 p.m.
