No. 5 Indians sweep Jackson State, remain unbeaten

Jackson, Tenn. - No. 5 ICC put together 26 hits in their sweep of Jackson State on Saturday. The Indians improved to 5-0 with the pair of wins.

Game 1: No. 5 ICC 8, Jackson State 2

Caroline Clark (Tuscumbia, Ala.), McKenzie Patterson (Corinth), and Hannah Henry (Brandon) each had a pair of hits in the first game of the afternoon.

ICC totaled 11 hits in the win. Patterson had two doubles and Henry added another.

Madison Jenkins (Cleveland) improved to 3-0 on the year after giving up two unearned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out 10.

Emily Robinson (Springville, Ala.) made her first appearance of the season to strike out two of three batters faced.

Game 2: No. 5 ICC 14, Jackson State 0 (5 innings)

The bats were still red hot to start the second game of the day. The Indians scored 13 runs in the top of the first before picking up the run-rule victory. 

Haylee Alberson (Hernando) was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI on a pair of doubles.

Allyson Harrison (Mantee) had two doubles while Henry and Hallie Moody (Haleyville, Ala.) also chipped in two hits. Harrison had two doubles with Jenkins, Kara Hays (Mooreville) and Lexi Brown (Morton) also adding a double to the Indians' 15 hits.

Ka'Mya Hampton (Pinson, Ala.) improved to 4-0 on the season while Harrison and Elena Thompson (Water Valley) help combine for the shutout. 

ICC is scheduled for be on the road at Snead State on Tuesday, but the game could be postponed due to weather expected to move through the area.
