Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's softball program continues to receive postseason honors with Emily Robinson (Springville, Ala.) and Madison Jenkins (Cleveland) being named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 Team.
The freshman pitching duo combined for 24 of the Indians' 36 wins this spring and led them to a regular season conference title, conference tournament runner-up and a regional appearance.
Robinson led the team and the nation in saves (9) and finished the year with a 9-3 record, 1.59 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 88 innings of work. At the plate, she had a .275 batting average over 40 at bats. Also, this postseason she has been named conference Pitcher of the Year and to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All South Region First Team.
Jenkins, who finished with a 15-1 record, had a 1.93 ERA with 80 strikeouts over 105 and one-third innings pitched in 24 appearances. At the plate, Jenkins had a .267 batting average with four home runs. She also earned First Team all-conference honors this postseason.
