No. 2 Indians advance in winner’s bracket with 3-1 win over Co-Lin

Fulton, Miss. – The Indians stayed in the winner's bracket of the MACCC Tournament and advance to the semifinals with their late night 3-1 win over Co-Lin Thursday.

With first pitch being delayed due to a weather delay before the game prior to the Indians and Wolves matchup, the squads took the field at 10:30 p.m. and wrapped up the game just before 1 a.m.

The Indians (35-5) took a 1-0 lead in the third as Kaitie Boatner (Guntown) came around to score when McKenzie Patterson (Corinth) reached on an error.

Co-Lin tied the contest in the fourth, but back-to-back RBI doubles from Katie Rutledge (Manchester, Tenn.) and Ivy Watts (Tupelo) gave the Indians the 3-1 lead in the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, Co-Lin loaded the bases, but Emily Robinson (Springville, Ala.) was able to get a big strikeout to end the threat. Robinson kept the Wolves off the board for the remainder of the game to secure the victory and pick up her ninth with this season.

Robinson went the distance and struck out nine and forced the Wolves to leave seven on base.

The Indians will face No. 6 Jones in the winner's bracket semifinal game Friday at 5 p.m. on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
