Fulton, Miss. – Less than 24 hours after opening the season with a doubleheader split with Shelton State, the No. 12 Indians swept Snead State taking game one 4-1 and game two, 4-2.

Game 1: Indians 4, Parsons 1

After a scoreless inning, the Indians struck first with Josie Meggs (Koscuisko) hitting a RBI single, but the Parson quickly tied that contest in the third.

Connor Stevens (Amory) broke the tie with a two-run single and later scored during a bunt attempt by Hannah Henry (Brandon) in the bottom of the fourth to give the Tribe the 4-1 advantage.

Madison Burrus (Hernando) and Emily Robinson (Springville, Ala.) combined to shut the Parson down in the final innings to secure the win.

Game 2: Indians 4, Parsons 2

The Indians took an early 1-0 lead as Kara Hays (Mooreville) tripled in run in the opening frame.

Ivy Watts (Tupelo) then drove in the game's next three runs, singling in the third and then hitting a two-run home run in the fifth.

Snead State answered with a pair of runs in the sixth, but the Indians were able to hold on to pick up the win and complete the sweep.

The Indians were scheduled to travel to Shelton State this weekend, but the game has been postponed and their next scheduled game is Feb. 18 at Bevill State.
