FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore third baseman Summer Cryder (Mooreville) announced via social media that she has signed to continue her career as a student-athlete at Delta State University next season.

Cryder was batting .429 on the season with a .441 on-base and .607 slugging percentage before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sophomore third baseman scored 10 runs and drove in 10 more on 12 hits with two going for doubles and one home run.

As a freshman, Cryder finished the season with a .303 batting average. She had a team-best 10 home runs and was second on the team with 41 RBI. That season she earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State second team and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region second team honors.

Cryder will join recent DSU signee Hope Harbin (Columbus) and former teammate Olivia Burns (Grenada) on the Lady Statesmen roster next season.
