Olivia Burns selected as All-American by Fastpitch News

FULTON, Miss. – Postseason honors continue to roll in for ICC sophomore pitcher Olivia Burns, as she was named First Team All-American by Fastpitch News Friday.

Burns, who was named a second team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday, recently signed with Delta State University after setting program records for the Indians last season.

She finished her sophomore season with a 1.81 ERA and set the program record for single season wins with 27. The Grenada native is also the program's all-time career wins record (46) and career strikeout record (273).

This postseason, Burns has also been named to the NFCA All-Region South Team, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 Team, and was named Pitcher of the Year and All-State First Team by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC).

Burns led the Indians to a 40-16-1 record, an MACJC Championship and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. She has signed to continue her career with Delta State University next season.
