Cox signs with Bethel University

FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore utility player Macey Cox signed a national letter of intent to continue her softball career at Bethel University next season.

The Troy, Tenn. native batted .362 with a .477 on-base percentage and a .425 slugging percentage. She had 58 hits with 44 RBI, 27 runs scored, 10 doubles, and a pair of steals during her sophomore campaign. Cox was selected MACJC Second Team All-State and helped the Indians earn their first-ever MACJC Tournament championship and NJCAA National Tournament appearance in her final season.

Away from the field, Cox earned the Health Physical Education and Recreation Division Award and was named to the President's List of Scholars.

As a freshman, Cox batted .349 with a .433 on-base percentage and .419 slugging percentage. She had 45 hits with 20 RBI, 21 runs, and nine doubles to be a MACJC Second Team All-State selection after helping ICC earn the MACJC regular season crown.

"We are very proud of Macey," said Coach Andy Kirk. "She was the face consistency in her two years here at ICC. She's the type of player you know what you're going to get from her each time she steps on the field. I'm excited to see her continue her success on the field and in the classroom at Bethel."

Bethel is located in McKenzie, Tenn. They are NAIA program and a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). The Wildcats finished 26-24 last season under the direction of Coach John Weeks.
