FULTON, Miss. – Five members of ICC's softball team have been named All-Region by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and National Fastpitch Coaches Association, Coach Andy Kirk announced on Wednesday.
Sophomore pitcher/infielder Bailie Springfield (Mantee) was named NJCAA All-Region team and was selected as a first-team member of the NFCA South All-Region squad.
Springfield, the MACJC Pitcher of the Year, set the record for most wins in a season by going 20-5 on the year. She added one save and a 1.54 ERA. The Southern Miss commit had seven shutouts, one no-hitter and led the team with 123 strikeouts in 150.1 innings pitched. At the plate, the East Webster grad had a .296 batting average with 21 RBI and 25 runs scored. She had 40 hits with team-highs in doubles (11) and triples (3) and a pair of home runs. Springfield only struck out five times in 135 at-bats to go along with her .342 on-base percentage and .467 slugging percentage.
Freshman pitcher/infielder Olivia Burns (Grenada) also earned a spot on the NJCAA All-Region team. Burns finished the season 19-4 with a 1.66 ERA while tossing six shutouts and 105 strikeouts in 135.0 innings of work. She batted .318 with 16 RBI and 13 runs scored in 88 at-bats. Burns added a .365 on-base percentage and a .330 slugging percentage.

Sophomore outfielders Cori Childs (New Site) and Meg Sullivan (Springville, Ala.) along with freshman catcher Samantha Conley (Mandeville, La.) were also selected to NFCA South All-Region teams.
Childs, a first-team selection, had 49 hits and a .331 batting average. She recorded five doubles, two triples and a team-best 52 runs while successfully stealing a team-high 49 bases on 51 attempts to become the Indians' all-time steals leader with 78 career stolen bases.
Sullivan, a first-team member, finished the season with team-highs in batting average (.414); on-base percentage (.474); slugging percentage (.602); hits (55); doubles (11) and home runs (4). She was second on the team with 30 RBI and 21 stolen bases while only striking out three times in 133 at-bats.
Conley, a second-team selection, hit .343 this season with 49 hits and a team-high 11 doubles, one triple and a home run in 143 at-bats. She had 36 RBI and 23 runs scored to go along with a .399 on-base percentage and .455 slugging percentage.
