GOODMAN, Miss. – The Indians scored nine runs in the fifth to earn a 15-2 run-rule victory over Holmes in game one.
After four innings, the Indians held a comfortable 5-1 lead but the nine run frame put them in line to pick a run-rule victory.
The Indians rattled off 18-hits in the contest highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance by Meg Sullivan(Springville, Ala.).Hannah Williams(Philadelphia) added two hits in three at bats, Samantha Conley(Mandeville, La) went 2-for-4 and Macey Cox(Troy, Tenn.) went 2-for-2 with three RBI.
Madison Carnes(Ecru) drove in two runs in the 2-for-4 performance and Abigail Colvin(Macon) drove in two runs in her lone plate appearance. Lilli Moore(Fulton) picked up her first RBI and hit of the year and Williams and Conley picked up an RBI each.
Bailie Springfield(Mantee) improved to 13-2 this season as she allowed four hits, one run in four innings of work.
