Burns, Sullivan lead Indians to game two win, sweep of Snead State

FULTON, Miss. – Olivia Burns (Grenada) and Meg Sullivan (Springville, Ala.) combined for six hits to help the Indians (8-2) complete the sweep of Snead State with an 8-3 game two victory.
Both went 3-for-3 and Sullivan hit a game changing three run home run in the third that sparked the Indians to score seven unanswered runs over two frames after trailing 2-0.
Burns got the fourth inning start with a single and stolen base before Lilli Moore (Fulton) entered as a courtesy runner. Kelcie Yates (Yazoo City) then drove in Moore with a single, followed by a two run scoring double by Rachel Sternisha (Olive Branch).
Sullivan then capped off the four run fourth inning picking up her fourth RBI of the game and giving the Indians a 7-2 lead.
Sternisha plated the Indians final run of the game on a sacrifice fly that allowed Burns to score.
The Parsons pushed across a run in the sixth, but the Indians mid-inning offensive explosion was too much to overcame as they picked up the 8-3 win and sweep.
Burns also she picked up the win in the circle to improve to 3-2 this season.
The Indians is schedule to travel to Snead State on Friday for a game against Walters State (Tenn.) at noon, followed by a game with the Parsons at 2 p.m.
