FULTON, Miss. – Game one of the Indians (7-2) doubleheader with Snead State Tuesday was a battle from the start, but the tribe took advantage of three errors and timely hits to pick up the 4-3 win.

The Indians plated their first run in the second when Samantha Conley (Mandeville, La) scored on a throwing error as she advanced to third after a walk by Macey Cox (Troy, Tenn.), who finished the day 2-for-2.

After Snead State plated a run on back-to-back doubles to tie the game in the top of the third, the Indians regained the lead in the bottom of the frame as Hannah Williams (Philadelphia) scored on a sacrifice fly Conley and Meg Sullivan (Springville, Ala.) scored on a ground out.

Sullivan reached on an error in the fourth that allowed Cori Childs (New Site) to score and give the Indians a 4-1 lead.

The Parsons answered with two runs on three hits in the fifth frame, but the Indians were able to weather the storm in the final two frames to pick up the 4-3 win.

Bailie Springfield (Mantee) picked up the win from the circle and improves to 5-0 as she threw a complete game where she struck out three.
