FULTON, Miss. – The Indians (6-1) trailed twice early but they chipped away and had an answer for every Marion Military run to pick up the 6-4 game one victory.

The Tigers plated four runs in the first two frames, but a 2-run home run by Meg Sullivan (Springville, Ala.) and a RBI triple by Cori Childs (New Site) in the bottom of the second pulled the Tribe within one run, 4-3.

Sullivan, who finished the game 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, scored in the bottom half of the third off a single by Hannah Williams (Philadelphia).

Samantha Conley (Mandeville, La.) gave the Indians the lead in the fourth on a bloop single and Sullivan plated Childs on a sacrifice fly in the sixth for an insurance run.

Sophomore right hander, Bailie Springfield (Mantee) shut down the Tigers in the final frame to improve to 4-0 this season and give the tribe the 6-4 win.
