Indians sweep Jackson State with run-rule win in Game 2

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Indians (5-1) scored at least one run in each of the six innings it took to complete the sweep of Jackson State (Tenn.) Community College with an 11-3 victory on Friday.

Hannah Williams (Philadelphia), Makenzie Toombs (Ackerman), Cori Childs (New Site), and Madison Carnes (Ecru) each had a pair of hits with Conley ripping a double and Toombs adding a 2-run triple in the Indians' 11-hit performance.

Childs added 2 steals in the game to bring her season total to 5 stolen bases in 6 games played.

Olivia Burns (Grenada) improved to 2-1 on the year after giving up 3 runs on 9 hits with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk against in 6 innings of work. Macey Cox (Troy, Tenn.) closed the door on the Generals with a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning.
