FULTON, MS – A total of five ICC softball players have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DII South All-Region team, the NFCA announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore second baseman Alex Brown (Pontotoc), sophomore third baseman Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston),sophomore pitcher Carleigh Mills (Corinth),  freshman outfielder Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL), and freshman utility player Caroline Dickins (Batesville) were tabbed to the NFCA South All-Region team.

Brown and Hollenhead added their second career NFCA All-Region citations, after earning All-Region and All-American honors last season.

The five honorees were the most selected to the all-region team in the history of the program.

Des Moines Area Community College (Midwest) and Jones County Junior College (South) joined the Indians in leading the NFCA DII All-Region with five players selected to the All-Region teams.

The NFCA awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's three regions with first-team recognition. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA NJCAA DII All-American squads, set to be announced on June 7.
