FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College's softball program had five players earn postseason honors after yet another record breaking season. 

Three sophomores earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) All-State First Team honors, while two were named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 Team. A pair of freshmen rounded out the postseason recognition earning MACJC All-State Honorable Mention.

Sophomores Alex Brown (Pontotoc) and Mamie Hollenhead (Mathison) were named MACJC All-State First Team and NJCAA All-Region 23 for the second year in a row, and Brown added MACJC Co-Player of the Year to her list of awards during her time at ICC. 

Right handed sophomore pitcher Carleigh Mills (Corinth) also earned MACJC All-State First Team and freshmen Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL) and Caroline Dickins (Batesville) earned MACJC All-State Honorable Mention.

Brown hit a .440 with 70 hits, 69 runs, 26 doubles, one triple, six home runs 44 RBI, 24 hit by pitch, 15 walks, 29 stolen bases and had a .542 on base percentage and a .730 slugging percentage. She led the team in on base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, doubles, home runs, steals and hit by pitch. Brown's 24 hit by pitches also led the nation and her 26 doubles was fifth in the NJCAA. She also earned MACJC Player of the Week honor twice during her sophomore campaign and had a.982 fielding percentage with 117 put outs, 105 assists and 18 double plays at second base. 

The hitting categories that Brown didn't lead the team in mostly belonged to Hollenhead who led the Indians in batting average, hits, triples and RBI. She hit .469 with 90 hits, 25 doubles, six triples, two home runs, 71 RBI, four walks, 16 stolen bases and had a .480 on base percentage and a .693 slugging percentage. Hollenhead was named MACJC Player of the Week once last season and had a .971 fielding percentage with 65 put outs, 104 assists and part of nine double plays at third base.

Mills had another stellar season in the red and blue as she finished the season with a 2.29 ERA while striking out 110 in 155.2 innings pitched. Her 19-9 record helped her become the program's single season wins leader and the career wins leader with a total of 34 wins.

Sullivan hit .404 in her freshman season with 55 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 31 RBI, 41 runs, 13 walks and 15 stolen bases.

Dickins pulled double duty playing short stop as well as pitching last season and hit .271 with 19 hits, five doubles, 11 RBI and five walks. In the circle she led the team with a 2.12 ERA and compiled 97 strikeouts with 122 innings pitched.

The Indians finished the season 39-14-1, tying the program's win mark and gives them their six consecutive 30 plus win season. In the final NJCAA Rankings, the Indians finished at No. 6 which is the program's highest ranking ever.
