ELLISVILLE, MS – The No. 6 Indians fell 5-1 to No. 4 LSU-Eunice in their final game of the season in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament on Thursday.

Similar to Wednesday's loss to No. 1 Jones, the Indians fell victim to another big inning after the Bengals (47-11) scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning.

The Indians (39-14-1) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) walked and scored on Meg Sullivan's (Springville, AL) second single of the game. Eunice answered to tie the game with a run in the top of the fourth on a passed ball.

The Bengals took a 2-1 lead on a throwing error before a two-run double by Molly Wilson gave Eunice a 4-1 advantage before she scored to take a four-run lead

ICC would put runners in scoring position in the fifth and seventh inning, but could get a rally going to overcome the four-run deficit.

Meg Sullivan went 2 for 3 with a RBI while Autry, Bre Harford (Southaven), and Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston) each had a single in the game.

The Indians concluded the 2017 season tying the mark for most wins in a single season (39). This year's sophomore class leaves with the record for most career wins with a total of 78 victories over the past two seasons. Their No. 6 ranking is the highest-ever in the history of the program.
