Brown named MACJC Softball Player of the Week

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College sophomore second baseman Alex Brown was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) Softball Player of the Week in a league announcement Tuesday.
The Pontotoc native helped the Indians (36-10-1, 23-5 MACJC) sweep both doubleheaders last week as she hit .571 (8-for-14) with three doubles, four RBI, eight runs scored and one home run.
Brown, who was named player of the week in week one this season, also swiped three bases and drew a walk during the final week of the regular season.
Her home run was a three run shot that came in the 4-2 game one victory at Holmes and two of her doubles game in the 15-2 game two win.
Brown and the Indians finished the regular season third in the conference and will host the opening round of playoffs Friday. However, they will not know their opponent until late Wednesday night as there are a few make up games to be played throughout the league.
