No. 9 Indians hold on for Game 2 win over EMCC

No. 9 Indians hold on for Game 2 win over EMCC

SCOOBA, MS – After picking up the win in Game 1, Caroline Dickins' bat helped secure the sweep of East Mississippi Community College (17-20, 14-8 MACJC) with a 5-4 victory in the final game of the day on Tuesday.

Dickins (Batesville) blasted a pinch-hit, two-run home run that landed in the back of a fan's Jeep to give the Indians a 5-2 lead with two outs in the top of the seventh.

The Lions rallied to plate a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning and put the tying run on third before the Indians gathered the final out on the inning on a ground ball to the shortstop.

Alex Brown (Pontotoc) went two for three with a pair of doubles and a run scored while Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL), McKenzie Piper (Pell City, AL), and Bre Harford (Southaven) each added a run scoring single.

Carleigh Mills (Corinth) give up one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out four to pick up her 15th win of the season.
