Coach Andy Kirk wins 200th game

FULTON, MS – Andy Kirk earned his 200th win as the head coach of the Itawamba Community College softball team when the No. 14 Indians defeated Southwest Mississippi Community College, 3-0, in the second game of the conference doubleheader on Saturday.
In his inaugural season, 2012, the Indians had a record-breaking year after winning a program-best 34 games and 22 division contests to win the program's second North Division Championship. The next season, the Indians won their second consecutive North title with a 31-15 overall record and 18-6 division record and earned their sixth-straight appearance in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
In 2014, ICC set a new mark for most wins in a season after finishing 37-13 and won its third-straight North Division title. That season the Indians' earned their highest ranking at No. 11 in the final NJCAA poll of the season. In 2015, the Indians finished 32-13 overall with a 19-5 record in North Division play to earn a share of the division championship.
The Indians held an 80-16 record in MACJC North Division play in four years before the league combined the North and South divisions in 2016.
Last season, ICC continued to raise the bar on most wins in a season with a 39-10 overall record and 22-6 inside conference play. The Indians finished the year with an impressive 22-0 home record and climbed as high as No. 7 in the national rankings. ICC finished the year ranked No. 10 in the final NJCAA poll of the season and was named MACJC Academic All-State team with a 3.60 team GPA.
Kirk's record at ICC is now 200-71 while his overall career record as a softball coach improves to 386-172. He is the all-time winningest coach in ICC softball history.
In his first five season in Fulton, Kirk has had four players named All-American, 15 All-State selections, 11 All-Region honorees, 23 players to earn All-North Division honors, two North Division Offensive Player of the Year and North Division Pitcher of the Year honorees, and one player earn a NJCAA Elite Hitter award.
