No. 12 East Central takes game two from No. 14 Indians to earn split

FULTON, MS – Game two of the MACJC doubleheader between No. 14 Itawamba Community College and No. 12 East Central was the complete opposite of game one, as the visiting Warriors run-ruled the Indians 10-1 in six innings.

After exploding for nine runs and 16 hits while holding the Warriors to one run and three hits in game one, the Indians (21-9-1) were held to one run and five hits whiel the Warriors scored 10 on 13 hits.

East Central scored early and often as they scored three runs in the first and third frames and one each in the second and fourth.

The Indians trailed 8-0 and were down to their final out in the bottom of the fifth, but a walk by Cori Childs ( New Site) followed by an RBI single by Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) kept the Indians alive and allowed the game to go at least one more inning.

In the top of the sixth however, the Warriors would plate two runs and held the Indians scoreless in the bottom half to earn the 10-1 run-rule victory.

The Indians will travel to Moorhead on Tuesday for a MACJC doubleheader with Mississippi Delta Community College starting at 2 p.m.
