FULTON, MS – The Indians left bases loaded in the sixth inning and three more runners in scoring position in a 5-4 Game 2 loss to Meridian Community College on Friday.

ICC took a 1-0 in the bottom of the first on a single by Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) to score Alex Brown (Pontotoc), who was hit by a pitch.

Meridian countered with a solo home run in the top of the second, but the Indians rallied after Brown started the bottom half of the inning with a double and stole third before scoring on a single by Hollenhead.

The Eagles final blow came when they took advantage of two Indian errors in the inning to push across four runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The Indians rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning when Brown walked, stole second and scored on a triple by Hollenhead. Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston) grounded out to short to score Hollenhead to make it a one-run game after four innings of play.

Hollenhead went three for four with a triple, three RBI, and a run scored.

The Indians rallied to load the bases in the bottom of the sixth inning after Kelcie Yates (Yazoo City) walked, Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) single, and Brown reached on an intentional walk with two outs in the inning, but a fly ball to center field ended the threat.
