FULTON, MS – The Indians pounded out 11 hits with five going for extra bases to complete the sweep of No. 16 Northeast with a 9-6 win in Game 2.

Alex Brown (Pontotoc) got things started in a big way when she crushed a home run to center field in the first at-bat of the game for the Indians.

Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL) and Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) drew back-to-back walks and Kaitlyn Rhodes (Alexandria, AL) reached on a single to load the bases in the bottom of the first inning. Bre Harford (Southaven) drew a five-pitch walk to score Sullivan and give the Indians a 2-0 lead.

Harford finished the game three for three with a walk, two RBI, and a run scored.

Facing a new pitcher for the Tigers, Kelcie Yates (Yazoo City) cranked a sacrifice fly to deep right field to score Hollenhead before Madison Carnes (Ecru) followed with a single to put the Indians up 4-0 before Northeast could get out of the inning.

Carnes hit her first-ever home run with a two-run shot in the bottom of the third inning to give the Indians a 6-0 lead before Brown doubled to score Cori Childs (New Site), who singled, to put ICC up 7-0 through three innings of play.

Carnes went two for three with three RBI and a run scored.

Northeast rallied with four runs in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 7-4.

The Indians countered with a RBI single by Harford in the bottom half of the fourth and Brown's second home run of the game in the bottom of the fifth to take a 9-4 lead.

The Tigers got a two-run homer in the top of the sixth before Caroline Dickins (Batesville) entered to shut down the Tigers rally by retiring the next six batters, three via strikeout, to earn the save.

Brown went three for four with a double and two home runs to drive in three runs while scoring two runs. Hollenhead had two of the Indians 11 hits on the evening.

Grayson Wells (Greenville) picked up the win after giving up four runs, all unearned, on five hits to go along with three strikeouts.
